No name, no email

When you open Sift for the first time, it creates an anonymous account tied to your device — not your name, email address, or phone number. That account is how Sift remembers your history and your free answers for the week. If you delete the app, that account (and everything in it) is gone.

What we store

• The link you share, and the question you ask about it.
• The answer Sift gives you, and the few comments it quoted as proof.
• A push notification token, so Sift can tell your phone when the answer is ready.

How an answer gets made

To answer your question, Sift reads the public comments on the post you shared. It fetches them through third-party data providers (ScrapeCreators, the YouTube Data API, and twitterapi.io, depending on the platform), then sends the relevant comments to TypeSafe and Anthropic, whose AI models judge which comments answer your question and write the reply. Only public comments are ever read — never private posts, messages, or accounts.

What we keep, and for how long

The full set of comments Sift reads is deleted within 24 hours. What’s kept afterward is only the small number of comments actually quoted in your answer, saved alongside it so you can see the proof later. Sift never stores or re-shares a whole comment section or video.

Payments

Sift Pro purchases are handled entirely by Apple and Google through RevenueCat. Sift never sees or stores your card details — it only learns whether your account is currently on Free or Pro.

What we don’t do

Sift doesn’t sell your data, and it doesn’t use it for ad targeting. There are no ad trackers in the app.

Delete everything, any time

Open Sift, go to You, and tap Delete my data. Your account, your history, your answers, and your push token are removed immediately — no waiting, no support ticket required.
